A recent major advancement in design of typical flush doors is the engineered panelled door or simulated panelled door.

Utilising a Vendor® as a starting point, Humphrey & Stretton are able to recess or infill panels into the face of the door to emulate the design of a traditional panelled door with individual timber stiles and rails. Together with this classical appearance the door can be specified with modern acoustic performance and fire resistance capabilities with full certification, making for a much more substantial and structurally-stable door construction.

Since there are no individual components outside the basic door leaf and panels, the assembly is completely inert and will not move like its’ traditional counterpart, which is a major concern with traditionally made doors which have to be fire rated, as the movement in the timber cannot be controlled for the lifespan of the door.

Panels can be flat, raised and fielded or glazed, whilst mouldings, glazing beads and decorative applied mouldings are available in a wide variety of styles and designs. If there is a requirement to copy an existing door using modern technique then our design team will be able to assist with any queries you have and guide you towards an effective solution.
